Marmaris Shore Excursion 1
Meet up with your local guide at
the Marmaris Port on a journey southwards,
towards the resort town of
Dalyan. Here you will board your kayik (a local wooden boat
with diesel motor) and travel to
Caunos, an ancient site on the waters of the lake of
Dalyan.
Dock at the pier of ancient
Caunos, and disembark for a tour of
the fascinating Hellenistic settlement that lies there. Explore
the very well-preserved theater, as well as the impressive
Byzantine Basilica.
After your tour of
Caunos, return to your kayik for the ride
back to
Dalyan. Enjoy a delicious local lunch in a lovely lake-side
restaurant, and then return to the the town for a visit to the
local weaving school. Here you will have the opportunity to
observe the local handicrafts, as well as chat with the locals.
